To make this fun little treat, you will need:
-5 5-by-5 squares of ready-to-bake puff pastry dough
-2 5-by-5 squares of havarti cheese
-2 large potatoes
-1 tablespoon of butter
- 1/2 a cup of a shredded cheese of your choice
Here's how it's done:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Cut the dough squares into fourths.
Cut each cheese square into ninths.
Line a medium-sized baking tray with aluminum foil.
Place one cheese slice on top of each slice of dough.
Lay out the puffs on the pan.
Put the tray into the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until pastry is puffy and golden-brown and the cheese is melted.
While the puffs are in the oven, wash, peel, and cube your potatoes.
Fill a medium-sized pot with water and add the cubed potatoes.
Add a pinch of salt.
Cook the potatoes until they are soft enough to be mashed.
Drain them and put them in a container.
Add 1 tablespoon of butter, and 1/2 a cup of shredded cheese.
Mash well and make sure all the ingredients are mixed well.
When the puffs and filling are ready, give them about 5 minutes to cool. Use a knife to cut horizontal pockets in the puffs. Use a teaspoon to place the filling inside of your puffs.
Then, relax and enjoy!
